What is the project?

The Great West Way is a new touring route, stretching between London and Bristol. It follows a 125 mile route based on the one of the first Great Roads commissioned by the Kings of England.

The route encourages visitors to travel by car, rail, boat, bike, or on foot and to get off the beaten track to discover the towns and villages that make up this diverse meandering path through southern England. From Cotswolds villages to exploring the Kennet and Avon Canal by narrowboat, the route joins up both key icons and lesser known destinations.

How to get involved

Intermediaries /
those selling England

The Great West Way provides a great range of experiences to encourage visitors to travel a little further and stay longer – visiting icons such as the Roman Baths and Stonehenge, but also towns and villages with a wide range of experiences of their own. Please contact Flo Wallace to sign up to the Great West Way Tour Operator programme, for a copy of the Great West Way trade directory and to discuss how the route can be featured in your programmes.

The Great West Way operates an Ambassador Network which you can join to take advantage of activity related to the route.
