Terms and conditions for ‘VisitBritain Online Travel Training’ competition

These Competition terms and conditions (“Specific Terms”) should be read together with, and are in addition to, VisitBritain’s standard terms and conditions at https://www.visitbritain.com/gb/en/general-competition-terms-and-conditions (the “General Terms”). Together these Specific Terms and the General Terms shall be referred to as the “Terms”.

The “Promoter” is the British Tourist Authority t/a VisitBritain (“VisitBritain”), a public body incorporated by statute in England and Wales, with its address at 151 Buckingham Palace Road, London, SW1W 9SZ.

1. How to participate

All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.

This competition is open to Australian and New Zealand travel trade personnel only.

In order to enter this competition, go to www.visitbritain-ott.com and complete all eight VisitBritain courses;

  1. Welcome to GREAT Britain
  2. London
  3. Southern England
  4. Central England
  5. Northern England
  6. Scotland
  7. Wales
  8. Touring Routes

Upon completion of the above courses, this competition becomes a Game of Skill whereby entrants are required to answer the following question using a maximum of 25 words: Based on the completed courses, which British destination would you like to travel to and why?

All entrants who complete the above eight courses will be contacted by email to answer this question and must also include: their name, email address, postal address (including postcode), telephone number and company name.

Entries which are incomplete, misspelt or incomprehensible will be void and not be entered into this competition.

You may only submit one entry to this competition. Multiple entries submitted by the same individuals will be void.

 

2. Start date

This competition will start on 17 August 2020 at 1:00am AEST.

 

3. Closing date

The closing date for this competition will be 30 November 2020 at 5:00 pm AEDT.

 

4. Selection of the winner(s)

There will be five winners.

The winners of the competition will be the five entrants selected by a panel of two judges for the most creative response out of all entries correctly submitted in accordance with these Terms. The names of the judges are available on request.

You acknowledge that you may be required to be used in publicity if you are selected as a winner.

Prize winners will be contacted within five days of the Competition closing date

 

5. Prize

The prize is as follows: Great Britain branded prize pack which may contain any of the following merchandise – 1 x backpack, 1 x headphones, 1 x tote bag, 1 x portable charger, 1 x drink bottle, 1 x passport holder and includes free postal delivery.

There is no alternative prize. The prize is non-transferable and excludes any additional costs and expenses.

The winners are responsible for any applicable taxes and expenses not specified in the description of the prize above.

 

6. Restrictions and requirements

Please note the following restrictions and requirements apply: entries open to Australian and New Zealand travel trade only.

Employees of the Promoter and Online Travel Training (OTT), as well as their immediate families, are ineligible to enter this competition.

 

7. Notification of the results and receipt of the [prize OR prizes]

The Promoter will notify the winners by e-mail on or before 05 December 2020.

The prizes will be posted out to the winners on or before 18 December 2020.

 

8. General

  1. The Promoter’s decision is final.
  2. The name and country of the winners can be obtained by sending a stamped, self addressed envelope marked ‘Auz/NZ Online Travel Competition’ to the Promoter.
  3. Once you have submitted an entry, you acknowledge that the copyright in your entry will be owned by the Promoter.
  4. Nothing in these Terms will limit the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence or for fraud.
  5. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
